Process Description: After developing, the Spirulina is filtered and spray dried until it turns into a powder. Either a disc atomizer or a series of high-pressure nozzles are used to atomize the feed into small droplets inside a sizable spray chamber. When these atomized particles come into contact with heated air, the water within them evaporates. Because it is cooled by evaporative cooling, the temperature of the feed droplet never surpasses that of hot air. The bottom of the chamber is where the dried product is released. In a high-efficiency cyclone separator, the dried product that was entrained with the exhaust air is separated and recycled back into the chamber. To recover the fines that were not separated during the cyclone, the exhaust air is then run through a recovery unit. Two centrifugal fans are used to handle the process air, and clean air is then released into the atmosphere. Either a PLC or a locally installed control panel is used to monitor and manage the plant’s overall operation.
