Transforming Organic Waste
into Clean, Green Energy
A patented technology for Biogas generation and purification,
Raj Process Equipments & Systems Pvt. Ltd. is one of the leading
compressed biogas plant manufacturers in India, offering world-class turnkey solutions
for CBG production. With decades of expertise and a proven track record, we deliver
advanced technology and custom-engineered systems that convert organic waste into
high-purity compressed biogas (CBG) — a sustainable and eco-friendly alternative fuel.
As India moves towards a clean energy future, Raj Process is at the
forefront of supporting SATAT (Sustainable Alternative Towards Affordable
Transportation) and GOBARdhan initiatives by designing and executing next-generation CBG
plants across the country and abroad.
Biogas Generation
Raj Process, a leader in industrial gas purification and
renewable energy solutions, has developed a patented CSTR-based biodigester with a
unique combination of central and lateral agitation. This innovative design enhances
biogas production and organic waste treatment, making it one of the most advanced
systems for anaerobic digestion in the market.
What is a CSTR-Based Biodigester?
A CSTR (Continuous Stirred Tank Reactor) biodigester is an
anaerobic digester used to process organic waste and produce biogas (mainly methane and
carbon dioxide). It breaks down organic matter such as agricultural waste, food scraps,
or sewage sludge in the absence of oxygen, producing valuable biogas and nutrient-rich
digestate for fertilizer use.

How Raj Process CBG Plants Work
Our state-of-the-art CBG plants use biomethanation technology to
convert organic feedstock into clean, high-purity compressed biogas.
1. Biogas Generation (Anaerobic Digestion)
- Utilizes a Continuous Stirred Tank Reactor (CSTR) configuration
- Operates under mesophilic conditions for stable and efficient digestion
- Converts press mud, distillery waste, cattle dung, agri-residues, and other organics
into raw biogas
2. Biogas Cleaning & Upgradation
- Advanced absorber columns remove H₂S and CO₂
- Achieves >96% methane content, meeting MoPNG CBG quality norms
- Uses aerobic reactors, sulphur recovery units, and PLC-based controls
- Equipped with real-time gas analyzers and central gas holders to maintain consistent
pressure
3. Compression & Bottling
- Upgraded biogas is compressed to 200 bar using energy-efficient compressors
- Stored and transported as Compressed Biogas (CBG) for fuel and industrial
applications
Applications of Compressed Biogas
- Automotive fuel replacement → CBG can substitute CNG and LPG in vehicles
- Industrial heating and power → Used as a green alternative to fossil fuels
- Electricity generation → Via gas engines and turbines
- Thermal energy → For steam and hot water systems in process industries
Benefits of Raj Process CBG Plants
- Environmental Sustainability → Reduces greenhouse gas emissions and diverts organic
waste from landfills
- Energy Security → Reduces dependency on imported fossil fuels
- Economical for Farmers & Industries → Converts press mud, agri-residues, and waste
into valuable energy
- Compliance-Ready Designs → Aligned with SATAT and GOBARdhan government initiatives
- Future-Ready Solutions → Integrates seamlessly with ethanol plants, distilleries,
and biomass complexes

Raj Process offers a variety of gas purification technologies.
While biochemical scrubbing followed by chilled water scrubbing is one of the most
advanced methods, we also provide alternative technologies such as Pressure Swing
Adsorption (PSA), Vacuum Pressure Swing Adsorption (VPSA), and membrane-based systems
for gas purification.
